Baby Turtle in the Sand

One evening while I was in St. Augustine, I happened on a nest of sea turtles as they were hatching. It was a moment I'll never forget. There were others on the beach cheering these little creatures on. I hope that in years to come I return and see them fully grown. 

This painting is unique in that it has sand in the paint. There is a wonderful texture to the canvas that calls the spectators to come and touch it...
